About Chris Su

Chris, Su Kok Leong is from Malaysia. He comes from a musical background with a ABRSM Grade Eight in Piano and Diploma an Italian Bel-Canto Vocal Certification. He started his on-stage career when he was just 6 years old and he won over 200 international singing competitions during his younger days.When he completed his studies at Limkokwing International University, he decided to become a singing artist in Malaysia. He jointly produced albums, classical musical as well as participated in overseas performances. At 25, he decided to change his lifestyle and went to India in search of the meaning of life. Eventually he becomes a yoga practitioner. Yoga to him is not just for the physical body, but it is also to understand the innerself.

Chris Su, is a pioneer Mindfulness Yin Yoga Trainer in Malaysia. He hass represented Malaysia to share yin yoga at the international stage. He holds an E-RYT 500 Yoga Alliance Certified Advance Trainer qualification, undergoes Yin Yoga Training with Sarah Powers and Josh Summers, and he is also a licensed Reiki and Sound-Healing therapist. He is a keen student of Buddhist Studies as well.

Chris Su, is the co-founder of the Mindfulness Yin Yoga Immersion, and he has been travelling around in various countries conducting workshops, train-the-trainer programs and yoga retreat. His is a co-author a book named “ Be Yourself – Living Yoga with Mindfulness “ and his book was published in Jan 15, 2019.

As his interest in Vipassana or Insight Meditation develops, so too is his interest in more contemplative form of yoga practice. With a knowledge of Chinese Medicine and a personal passsion for the Dharma, Chris Su fell in ove with Yin Yoga as it is a beautiful fushion of these two interests.

About Mindfulness Yin Yoga

Mindfulness Yin Yoga is a type of Yoga practise in which it complements the Yang Yoga practise. Yang Yoga poses basically are more dynamic and mostly active or fast in nature. In Yin Yoga, all floor posture are held passively for several minutes or even longer as it will prepare the body to slowly adopt to a safer and positive “stress” at all connective tissue in the body.

On the physical side point of view, Yin Yoga restores and maintains the natural mobility of the joints, primarily areas between the navel and knees part. On the other hand, Yin Yoga opens the body’s Meridian system in which it could enhances the own body’s energetic flow, in which it could directly maintain our own body’s emotional equilibrium.

As Yin Yoga poses emphasises calm, stillness, silent and deep stretching in natire, through the practise o Yin Yiga, it will prepare both the body and mind into deeper experience and longer duration during meditation practises.


This training is open to all levels of practitioners, particularly those wanting to deepen their yin practice. No pre-requisite is required. A keen and sincere interest to learn is key.

Workshop Program

In this workshop, participants will be taught about the :

  1. Introduction to Yin Yoga & Principle
  2. Mindfulness Study – Four foundation of mindfulness (Satipatthana Sutta)
  3. Yoga Anatomy – The theory of 3 layers of Joint, Muscle tissues and Connective tissues
  4. Yin Yoga sequence for self-practice

The Benefit of Yin Yoga Mindfulness Workshop will include the following

1. Learn the four essential Yin Yoga sequences, with relevant modifications and adjustments.
Understand the positive physiological effects of Yin Yoga towards the connective tissue and joint and health.

2. Acquired experiential and theoretical knowledge of the Buddha’s core teachings in mindfulness meditation, which is a great framework for integrating meditative themes into Yin Yoga classes or personal practise.

3. The Workshop is suitable for those who have interest to further their Yoga practises and it’s philosophy by learning the principle of Yin Yoga, or for those who wish to deepen their understanding of the practice of the core value of Yoga.

4. Upon completion of the workshop, participants will received a certificate of attendance.
